This October, I’ll be giving two workshops at the Archdiocese of Houston’s Proclaim Conference. This year’s theme, Radiant with Joy, is inspired by Pope Francis’ Evangelii Gaudium. The various sessions will focus on the art of accompaniment, ringing out the kerygma, and a missionary impulse that transforms.
Both my workshops are on Saturday, October 20th. My morning workshop is Digital Discipleship: Following Christ in a Technological Culture:
Christ’s call to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth continues to this day, even as technology becomes a central part of our culture. Thus even in our digital lives, we must model for others the discipleship we are called to by the faith. In this workshop, participants will learn through discussion and activities how best to engage with technology in a way that makes our lives into professions of the good news.
My afternoon workshop is Transforming Technology through Evangelization:
Modern technologies have made communicating the Gospel at a distance much easier, but often at the sacrifice of meaningful, personal relationships. In this workshop, participants will learn how to be better missionaries of the Gospel online. Through discussion and activities, participants will develop their own blueprint for online evangelization.
