The Possibility of Virtue in the Virtual Community

In February, I gave a keynote at a colloquium on Community and Human Flourishing at the University of South Florida. The various papers looked at the idea of the good life and community, with particular interest in the key issues of different eras. I focused my paper on the questions that arise from virtual community today, particularly as mediated through social networks like Facebook and Twitter. The talks were recorded and made available on YouTube, which you can watch below.

Special thanks to Lily King Abadal, Ashley Potts, and Garrett Potts for their invitation to speak at this conference and all their work to organize. Thanks also to the Yale Center for Faith and Culture, who provided funding for the colloquium.
