Despite being much maligned, the Vatican II decree Inter Mirifica gave the enduring gift of World Communications Day. Each year, the Pope writes a brief message (usually about three printed pages) about social communications, media, and technology. The messages don’t usually get much attention, but I try each year to write a brief analysis of the text shortly after its release. This year, Pope Francis wrote about “fake news,” an issue that has been especially relevant in the US the last year or two. Check out my post and let me know what you think!
