This past spring, Saint Leo University hosted musicians and educators Kim and Reggie Harris during our Black History Month celebrations. Coming to us through the Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows program, they both gave a public performance and came to teach in some of the classes. I was blessed to have the opportunity to interview them together for the Daily Theology Podcast. We spoke about African-American spirituals, Kim’s work on a setting of the Catholic mass based on the spirituals, and how they got into education. An especially wonderful part of this episode is the opportunity to hear them sing.
